We wish we knew it ahead we just trusted the doctor from the resort’s clinic and hospital doctors. We also know that the clinic from Iberostar resort got kickback for sending tourists to this hospital. We understand that the hospital charge tourists thousand dollars, we read reviews about this hospital unfortunately too late. Knowing real Mexican prices (like appendicitis surgery in Cancun is $270), my husband trusted them and agreed to let them get this deposit. He wasn’t given any estimate of what will be the final price or how much they charge for procedures. After checking in he was located in the room and asked to sign some papers and put on hold $3500 deposit. They didn't offer him options but took him to the hospital “Hospiten Riviera Maya” and told him that his insurance will cover it. They gave him a painkiller but the next day the pain got worse, so he decided to go back for advice of where he should go to get help. My husband got a sharp pain in his back and used the resort clinic. Everything was good until the next story. We stayed at Iberostar Selection Paraiso Maya in May. The activities by the pool are fun, the beach was nice, the beach snack bar has drinks and good food for during the day if you’re looking for burgers, fries, etc… Housekeeping did a great job! My parents saw several shows, and really like them, the fire show is amazing, and the lobby bar was a good place to hang out! Being that it is a Iberostar, you can utilize for different hotels if you stay at the Maya suites which we did! My family loved it.

The Japanese restaurant was so good!! The excursion we did was an atv, zip line and cenote through la noria excursions and it was amazing! Great staff and awesome experience! My advice is, if you want to get to the pool, get out to the pool early by 7am and save your chair! Definitely make your dinner reservations the first day you get there because they fill up fast. The food was very good and a lot of different choices for everyone. We hope to see you again at our resort and therefore look forward to your next visit.We stayed this July for a week and had an amazing vacation! The staff was super friendly and always helpful, the golf cart transportation was very accessible, the pools were great and many to choose from. You may however rest assured that we will most definitely be forwarding your remarks to all of the respective department managers in order for all the correct measures to be taken where necessary.
